Heartbeats
JimFrazer knows missions! Our church has a history of being a missional church. Frazer has never just focused on itself. Missions are one of our core values. We take the commission of Christ seriously, and when He has asked us to go into all the world we have.
I am so happy to be a part of a church that believes in mission. You’ve probably heard the saying “Put your money where your mouth is.” At Frazer we don’t just talk about missions, we do something about missions. Our total mission budget for this year is $550,000. Folks, that’s more than a half-million dollars. (more)

Pastor's Points (Continued)
(Continued from top)

We give financial support to 44 missionary families, which encompass 77 people. This number includes 10 families who are Frazer members. Six of these serve overseas, with five missionaries serving in East Asia. Three of the missionaries serve within the United States, and one serves locally. Additionally we support a prayer ministry with three families who are full-time, salaried missionaries by other entities. Frazer knows missions!

We have planned 14 mission teams for 2010, with four mission trips planned within the United States. The locations are Baldwin, La. (two teams), Beverly, Ky. and Haynesville, N.C. We will also have 10 international trips with teams serving in Ecuador, Moldova (two teams), Brazil (two teams), Peru (two teams), Cuba (two teams) and Zambia. We also have local mission trips that occur every month. Frazer knows missions!

Today and Sunday, Feb. 28 you will have the wonderful opportunity to sign up to serve on a mission team. A mission trip will enrich your life in so many ways. Ask those who have gone on a mission trip. Look for the tables in the Atrium with information and an opportunity to sign up to participate. While you are being a blessing to others, you will be blessed beyond measure.

At the same time today and next Sunday you also will be able to sign up for The Great Day of Service on April 10, if you have not already signed up through your Sunday School class. The Great Day of Service is an outreach to the city of Montgomery by three local United Methodist Churches, Aldersgate, First Methodist and Frazer. Kim Bullard is the chair of the Great Day of Service and she has done wonderful work.
Missions deserve our prayers, our money and our time. We do all those things and more. As I said, FRAZER KNOWS MISSIONS!

- Jim
