Pastor's Points
BarryNot many American cities have the honor to host the popular television production of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” as Montgomery has had for the past two weeks. Weeks ago, a few of us were able to commit Frazer to being the site of the kick-off pep rally. We had to keep it to ourselves for a while, but the Montgomery project was launched right here at Frazer. Aronov Homes was chosen as the builder and many of our Frazer family members, as well as citizens from all over the region, donated their time to build a house in four days for Monica and Brady Jordan and their family. Newspaper and television news kept us informed about this incredible gift. (more)

Church-Wide News and Events
STAYING ON MISSION: MARCH 8 SET AS GREAT DAY OF GIVING
Staying On MissionThank you to those who have already turned in pledge increases and gifts in response to Frazer’s 30-day “Staying on Mission” initiative. These funds are designated to maintaining Frazer’s missions support. If you have not yet participated, you may do so by using the tear-off card on Sunday’s worship guide, by calling the church office at 272-8622, or by e-mailing Rusty Taylor at rusty.taylor@frazerumc.org or Russ Dunman at russ.dunman@frazerumc.org. The initiative will culminate Sunday, March 8 at our “Great Day of Giving.”

UPCOMING CHANGES TO FRAZER’S BULLETIN AND NEWSLETTER
After March 8, Frazer will no longer mail the weekly bulletin to all members. However, the “Frazer Family News” will move to twice-monthly publication, starting in mid-March, in order to ensure members stay informed even when they don’t make it to church. Many members have expressed concern about the cost of our “new” bulletin format initiated last year. This new plan will reduce printing and mailing costs by $66,000 annually and will bring our bulletin expenses to less than half the cost of the “old” bulletin, allowing us to be both more effective in our communication and more efficient in our use of resources. An improved version of our e-mail bulletin will also be sent out beginning in March, and you can always find the latest information at www.frazerumc.org.

CARING MINISTRIES WORKSHOP SCHEDULED FOR MARCH 28
Frazer will host an area-wide Caring Ministries Workshop Saturday, March 28 from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Frazer members interested in enhancing their Christian care-giving skills or learning more about Stephen Ministry are encouraged to register. The registration fee has been waived for Frazer members. Pre-registration is required. E-mail stephenministry@frazerumc.org or call Linda Best at 272-8622 to reserve your spot.

Pastor's Points (Continued)
(Continued from top)
It is a beautiful thing to me to observe the Frazer volunteers who gave countless hours for the sheer joy of giving. The spirit of these people makes this church what it is. It was overheard at the work site, “Frazer does this kind of thing all the time.” That is one of the greatest compliments for Frazer, and it is accurate. People in this congregation work everyday at tasks all across the region serving others. So let me say a very special thank you for being true to our mission and who we are…serving people in the name of Jesus Christ!

By the way, look for the national airing of the Montgomery episode of “Extreme Makeover: Home Edition” television show in April.

Last Sunday evening. Frazer hosted Siran Stacy as he shared his heartbreaking story. It is an incredible narrative of one of Alabama’s great football running backs who experienced the most devastating pain a person can know when he lost his wife and four of his children, all in a split second. But Siran showed us the power of God at work in the heart of a man who is determined to overcome. What an evening we had last Sunday when over 3,000 people filled Wesley Hall and overflowed into the Sanctuary. Many lives were touched and changed as a result of his witness. Frazer received a love offering for Siran’s ministry of over $10,500. A special thank you goes to Mike Merrill for making Siran’s visit possible.

Soon we will launch a new television program called “The Carpenter Shop” to air weekly on WFRZ. The show will highlight “people who build people” from all walks of life. Siran Stacy will be one of our first guests. It was a joy to spend time with him in our studio. Other great Christians, Americans, public servants, and private citizens will be a part of the television show. If you know of a person who is making a difference serving others, please contact John Rogers in the television department.

The 2009 Elementary Teacher of the Year for Montgomery Public Schools is Jennifer Rodopoulos, a member of Frazer. She is a fifth grade teacher at Forest Avenue Elementary School. We congratulate Jennifer on this wonderful recognition for serving the children of our city with such distinction.
Beginning March 8, and continuing to Easter, we will investigate the uniqueness of Jesus revealed to us in the “I Ams” found in the Gospel of John. Take this opportunity to invite others to seek to know Jesus with us!
