Notes From Our Pastor
TimThere was a little boy who saw the sun shining through the old roof on the porch where his mother was standing. He asked his mother, “What’s the light spot on the floor?” His mother knew that it was the sunlight, but decided to relate that sunny spot to God. “That,” she answered, “is God smiling down on us.” The little boy walked over to where the light was coming in and stood there. His mother asked, “What are you doing?’ He said, “I am standing in God’s smile.” He grew up, went into business, and was very successful but drifted away from God. (more)

MARK YOUR CALENDAR FOR MUSIC MINISTRY EVENTS

Frazer’s Worship Team is working hard to prepare for upcoming events you will not want to miss. Rather than a single Easter musical, expect extraordinary special music as part of Palm Sunday, Good Friday and Easter Sunday services. Then, on April 25, be sure to come for “The Everlasting Song,” a treasury of hymns and the stories behind them, presented in styles from ancient to modern by Frazer’s choirs, praise team, full orchestra and drama team.

REGISTER NOW FOR STUDENT CONFIRMATION RETREAT
All Confirmation Students should sign-up now for our Confirmation Retreat, April 16-18 at Camp Chandler. Cost is $75 and the deadline to register is March 28. Confirmation is just the beginning of the journey––we want to make sure our Confirmands are “built to last.” Register online at frazerumc.org/event/confirmationretreat or bring your payment and registration form to the CRAVE Student Ministry office at any time. Financial assistance is available so call the CRAVE office at 272-8622 with any questions.

Discipleship & Fellowship Opportunities
I.CONNECT FOR WOMEN MEETS MARCH 9; NOTE LOCATION CHANGE
I.Connect will meet Tuesday, March 9 from 8:45- 11 a.m. in room 8114, instead of in the Parlor. Please note the location change. Moms, this is a great time of fellowship with other women as we share life, encourage and be encouraged while hearing a great spiritual lesson over coffee and bagels. Reservations are necessary for you and preschool childcare. Please e-mail Sandy Boswell at sandy@frazerumc.org by noon Friday, March 5 to reserve your spot.

MARCH NOON SALAD LUNCHEON
Frazer’s Noon Salad Luncheon will be this Tuesday, March 9 from 12-1 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall. Dr. Don Hill’s topic is “Don’t Be Stressed Out.” Cost is $5. Reservations are not required and the public is welcome.

MARCH S.P.I.R.I.T. THIS WEEK
S.P.I.R.I.T. of Frazer will meet this Thursday, March 11 at 6 p.m. in the Fellowship Hall for dinner followed by a special performance in Wesley Hall at 7 p.m. The Sowers Sunday School class will present a Spring Spectacular, showcasing 16 acts from the ‘40s,’50s and ‘60s. Bring a friend and be prepared to laugh. World War II veterans will be recognized during the final act. Cost for dinner is $5. Call Faye Jackson at 279-8727 for reservations.

SIGN UP FOR THIS MONTH’S COMPUTER CLASSES
Mark your calendar for two upcoming computer classes. Monday, March 8, we will learn how to create mailing labels. Monday, March 22, we will cover using speller and making grammar corrections. Both classes meet at 1 p.m. in the computer lab. Call Sandy at 495-6391 to reserve your spot.

SIGN UP NOW FOR CITY/CHURCH LEAGUE SOFTBALL
Registration is now open for Adult City/Church League Softball. Cost is $30, due at time of registration. Deadline to sign up is March 16 and games will begin the week of April 12. Come by the Activity Center to register or call 495-6459 for more information.

Serving & Volunteer Opportunities
BLOOD DRIVE THIS SUNDAY
LifeSouth will be set up in the Atrium/By the Sea this Sunday, March 7 from 8 a.m.- 1 p.m. Please consider donating the gift of life to help meet critical blood supply needs in our community.

HELP BY DONATING CANDY FOR EASTER EGGSTRAVAGANZA
Frazer’s Easter Eggstravaganza will be Saturday, March 27 from 9:30 a.m.-12:30 p.m. Mark your calendar for this morning of family-fun for the whole community. Donations of individually-wrapped candy (no nuts due to food allergies) are needed. Drop off your donations in the Atrium donation boxes by March 21. Your contributions are greatly appreciated.

FOOD PANTRY & HOMELESS HYGIENE KIT MINISTRY DONATIONS
The Food Pantry is in need of non-perishable food items and the Homeless Hygiene Kit Ministry is also collecting travel-sized personal care items. Please bring your donations this week and place them in the Donation Station carts located throughout the church or bring them directly to Community Ministries during business hours Monday-Thursday.

After his mother died, he had the task of selling the old house and dealing with all his mother’s possessions. One day, he was looking around in the attic when he noticed a pair of children’s shoes. He picked them up and discovered a folded piece of paper inside one of them. When he unfolded the paper, he saw words written in his mother’s hand. “These are the shoes my little boy wore the day he stood in God’s smile.”
That is what I feel today. I feel like I am standing in God’s smile. There is no peace filled and sweeter spot than to be in that place where you know God wants you to be. God has smiled on me by giving me the privilege of being a part of the Frazer family. The people of Frazer did for me 34 years ago what it has done for thousands of people through the years: pointed me to a deeper relationship with Jesus Christ, called forth my gifts to serve Christ, and blessed me with love and grace. Today is like coming home. I am truly standing in God’s smile.
I look forward to serving with you in the ministry of Jesus Christ. May we never forget the words of Ephesians 3:20-21, “Now to him who is able to do immeasurably more than all we ask or imagine, according to his power that is at work within us, to him be glory in the church and in Christ Jesus throughout all generations, forever and ever! Amen.”

The 2010 Frazer Membership Directory and Yellow Pages will be available this Sunday, March 7 and Sunday, March 14. The Cub Scouts and Boy Scouts will be handing out copies at the exits Sunday morning, and copies will also be available in the Atrium. Be sure to pick up your copy.

SCHOLARSHIP APPLICATIONS
Frazer’s Charitable Trust is now taking scholarship applications. The applications are available in the church office and must be returned by March 31.

SHOW YOUR FRIENDLINESS: WEAR A NAME TAG

As we welcome our new Senior Pastor to Frazer, let’s help him (and each other) learn our names by remembering to wear your church name tag. If you have misplaced yours, call Aesha Blanton in the church office for a replacement.
