This Week At Frazer
March 15-21, 2009 - Frazer United Methodist Church - www.frazerumc.org

Pastor's Points
BarryI take a pastor’s privilege to thank God for the outstanding lay leaders in this church that God is using. This is a time for celebration and praise to God because, in just a few days after the call went out from our Board of Stewards declaring a Great Day of Giving for missions, the Frazer Family responded with more than $529,531. That entire offering goes for the support of mission commitments we have made for 2009. Thanks to Andy Harris and Tom Calender for their words last Sunday. To God be the glory. (more)

Pastor's Points (Continued)
(Continued from top)
Last Saturday the Children’s Ministry, under the leadership of Marsha McGehee, along with Butch McPherson from the Win Pod, led children and their parents in a wonderful gift of service in distributing 40,000 pounds of potatoes in West Montgomery. The Lion Chasers, part of our Men’s Ministry under the leadership of Rick Holston, did the heavy work of unloading a semi-trailer in preparation for the children and their parents who re-bagged all of the potatoes for distribution. To God be the glory.

Last Sunday evening the Board of Stewards convened in their monthly session and as the Scripture says, “great grace was upon them all.” The Board Chairman Carl Bartlett, Lay Leader Mark Kingry, and Finance Chairman Beebe Frederick have provided excellent leadership in recent weeks. They are true leaders. To God be the glory.

The Board of Stewards is directing the Council on Ministry under the leadership of Don Bascom to organize itself into the Strategic Planning Team for our 1,000-Day Strategy. Shane Segars will work as the staff representative. We will achieve God’s dreams for the future of our community and our world because of the Christian leaders here.
To God be the glory.

Last Thursday pastors from around the country spent a day here in a leadership Incubator, and Rick Holston’s Men’s Incubator cooked for them the most wonderful southern dinner. It was outstanding. To God be the glory.
In recent weeks one of Frazer’s outstanding young leaders, Anthony Leigh, was named the Vice President of Development of Huntingdon College. A great choice for the college! To God be the glory.

Thursday evening women from many churches gathered in the Sanctuary for a service of worship. Kim Hendrix is an able teacher and both she and Women’s Ministry leader Susan Fisher are extraordinary spiritual leaders. To God be the glory.

In recent days we have been blessed by incredible music from the Sanctuary choir, Good News Singers, Shine Your Light, Youth Worship Arts, and Children’s choirs. Jerrod Dorminey is doing a great job leading Wesley Hall worship. To God be the glory.

Upward Basketball, under the leadership of Craig McKissick, and coached by many volunteers, had 110 professions of faith in their celebration event. To God be the glory.

We can all be grateful for these and other evidences of God among us, but I have a feeling we haven’t seen anything yet!

Barry
