Pastor's Points
BarryNBC news correspondent David Bloom died in the beginning of the Iraq War. What you may not know is that David Bloom had recently accepted Jesus Christ as his Savior. He grew up in a religious home, but it wasn’t until he moved beyond theoretical theology to a personal relationship with Jesus that he had the assurance of forgiveness and the certainty of eternal life. CONFIRMATION SUNDAY WILL BE APRIL 26 IN WESLEY HALL
Sunday, April 26 will be a day of joyful celebration as nearly 100 young men and women come forward to be baptized in the Christian faith and received into the full membership of the church during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. worship services. Since January, these students have participated in confirmation classes, service projects and a retreat. They stand ready to make both a public affirmation of their faith in Jesus Christ and a vow of commitment to this church of their prayers, presence, gifts, service and witness. Please join the entire congregation as we receive these newly confirmed members and celebrate this important faith milestone. All Sunday morning services will be combined in Wesley Hall , with confirmation celebrated during the 9:30 and 11 a.m. services.

BACK ENTRANCES CLOSED DURING THE WEEK
Frazer is working with the MPD to ensure the safest possible environment on our campus. One strategy they have recommended is that we minimize through traffic. The entrances from Atlanta Highway, across from Hobby Lobby, and from Burbank, near the soccer fields, will remain open all week, but others will be closed except during worship services and major events. Thank you for your patience with this minor inconvenience.

Pastor's Points (Continued)
(Continued from top)
On April 5, crouched in a modified tank, Bloom picked up his phone and played back his messages. One voice mail was from Jim Lane, who was David’s Bible study leader. The two friends shared a daily, long-distance devotional time using Oswald Chamber’s classic, “My Utmost for His Highest.” The reading for that day was based on Matthew 25: “Because of what the Son of Man went through, every human being can now get through into the very presence of God.” Moments later, Bloom climbed out of the tank, took a few steps and collapsed.1
More than 2,000 people attended his memorial service at St. Patrick’s Cathedral. The tributes to his life were moving, but what left the packed pews in stunned silence was a final e-mail to his wife, sent from the battlefield in Iraq: “Here I am, supposedly at the peak of professional success, and I could frankly care less. Yes, I’m proud of the good job we’ve all been doing, but in the scheme of things it matters little compared to my relationship with you, the girls and Jesus.”2
Life, in all of its grief and glory, is nothing without Christ. He is the One who brings meaning and hope to our existence and to all our relationships. What He did on the cross, through His death and through His resurrection, opens to us a whole new world of possibilities. He changes the past, present and future. The glorious news from the empty tomb is this: Easter changes everything!
