Pastor's Points
BarryAll that I am I owe to my mother. My mother, June Carpenter, was one of the strongest characters in my life. Her wit, her strong will, and her loving way bring me strength even to this day. She has been gone several years, but her life sustains me. She poured herself into her children and her home. She loved us, and there was never a doubt about that. She taught us to love God. My siblings are still being blessed by the daily prayers she prayed with us before leaving for school each day. I pray that she and your mother know today the love we have for them. May God bless our mothers! (more)

Church-Wide News and Events
FOUNTAIN OF LOVE OFFERING
A special offering will be taken this Sunday, May 10, for the residents of Wesley Gardens Retirement Community. Help keep the “fountain of love” flowing by giving to this wonderful ministry. Special Fountain of Love envelopes will be available during all worship services.

CHILDREN’S WORSHIP ARTS SPRING PROGRAM MAY 13
Children’s Worship Arts invites you to their spring program May 13 at 6 p.m. in Wesley Hall. This year, the children have been learning about God and His plan for our lives. The Cherub Choir, JoySong and Purest Praise choirs will each give a special presentation as we worship and praise our great God and celebrate the song God has given each of us.

DISCOVER LONDON AND ISRAEL THIS FALL
Frazer will lead an 11-day trip in November, including historic Methodist sites in London and the life-changing experience of touring the Holy Land. Exploratory meetings will be held Wednesday, May 20 at 7 p.m. or Sunday, May 24 at 5 p.m., in room 3105. Call Charles Wise at 495-6319 or e-mail cwise@frazerumc.org for more information.

IN HIS STEPS DEVOTIONALS
In effort to be good stewards of our resources, the monthly In His Steps devotional guide will no longer be offered in its current format. This devotional was a special edition of “Indeed” which featured a cover designed exclusively for Frazer. The contents of “Indeed” are still available by individual subscription or free by e-mail. This change will save the church $23,000 by not ordering personalized copies of the devotional. For more information, go to the “publications” section of www.walkthru.org. “The Upper Room” devotional guide is still available outside the church office.

Pastor's Points (Continued)
(Continued from top)

The senior adults of this congregation are one of its great strengths. We need children, youth and young adults, but we also need the senior adults. I revere those who have been faithful to family, vocation, church, country and their ideals for a lifetime. At Frazer, we seek to create an environment where the wisdom, skills, experience and faith, which often abound in midlife and older adults, are being intentionally developed and fully realized. Martha John Allison demonstrates this priority through her leadership of Older Adult Ministry.
This Sunday we turn our attention to older adults who are residents of our Methodist Homes in Alabama and Florida. I ask you to give generously to the Fountain of Love Offering.
The Fountain of Love Fund is a source to help individuals in the Methodist Homes whose own finances have been exhausted.
The Fountain of Love Fund provides security and assurance to individuals who do not have sufficient income to pay for their care. More than $1 million is given each year to needy residents. In fact, no resident has ever been asked to leave due to inability to pay.
Any resident of the Methodist Homes of Alabama and Northwest Florida whose assets and monthly income are not adequate to cover their monthly care charges and expenses is eligible for assistance.
Take some time today to thank God for your mother. Tell her you love her. She’ll hear you and be blessed. Give some money, love, respect and time to those who have been around a little longer than you have. They will receive it with joy. And everyone will be blessed. I guarantee it!
