Community Ministry Volunteers

All of us individually can make a difference in our community for good. Together, we can do even more. Here are some of the ways Frazer members come together to meet needs in our city.

Food & Clothing

  • Food Pantry: collect and organize donated food and assist in distributing it to the hungry. Contact Robin Vandermey››
  • Meals on Wheels: delivery hot meals to the elderly in cooperation with the Montgomery Area Council on Aging.
  • Clothes Closet: collect and sort donated clothing and assist in distributing it to those in need. Contact Benito Rodriguez
  • Sewing Ministry: sew or mend items for the clothes closet at church or from home, and/or train others to sew.
  • Homeless Shoe Boxes: assemble donated personal care items and deliver to area shelters.

  • Employment & Financial

  • Christian Job Exchange: help bring together employers seeking workers with job applicants needing employment.
  • Financial Coaching: work one on one to mentor individuals and families requesting help with managing their money (six-session training course provided).

  • Housing & Construction

  • Rebuilding Together: partner with others to perform home repair and construction for the elderly and disabled (annual event the last Saturday in April). Contact Charlie Kendall.
  • Roll Up Your Sleeves: assist with light construction or minor home repairs such as installing wheelchair ramps. Contact ???

  • Disaster

  • Disaster Shelters: assist with operating shelters at Frazer’s campus during natural disasters in cooperation with the Red Cross. Contact ???
  • Disaster Response: work with a team distributing relief supplies, and providing urgent repairs or rebuilding following tornadoes, hurricanes, flooding, etc. Contact ???
  • RIMS (Recreational Vehicles in Missions): utilize your RV as a mobile platform for disaster relief and other missions projects. Contact Tad Smith (334-272-0085 .(JavaScript must be enabled to view this email address))

  • Health & Medical

  • Blood Drive Worker: assist professional staff with organizing drives at Frazer so that others can give this life-saving gift. Contact ???
  • Asbury Eye Clinic: assist with free clinic providing eye care assessments and treatment to those who can’t otherwise afford them at Frazer’s Asbury campus. Contact Mike Merrill ???
  • Medical Mission Teams: persons with professional medical training share their gifts by traveling on short term trips to places where good medical care is scarce or unaffordable. See our mission teams page.

  • Education

  • Public School Tutor: assist children who need a little extra help to stay on grade level and excel (short training course provided). Contact ???
  • ESL (English as a Second Language): provide training in English to non-native speakers, and/or assist with coordinating the program; knowledge of a foreign language is not required. Contact Kay Bray.

  • Prison & Former Inmates

  • Angel Tree: assist with collecting and distributing gifts to children of inmates and other needy children at Christmas. Contact ???
  • Prison Ministry: assist with any aspect of a monthly worship service provided to area prisoners. Contact ???
  • Turnabout Ministry: serve as a counselor, case manager, or provide other assistance to single, homeless women with children to overcome personal crisis and re-establish themselves physically and emotionally in the community. Contact ???

  • Orphans & Widows

  • Selma Children’s Home: coordinate church support for this agency including participating in activities with the children. Contact ???
