Volunteers
Crave Volunteers
Volunteers are one of the most important aspects of Crave Student Ministry. Without YOU, student ministry does not happen. The page is intended to equip you with useful tools and resources to make your ministry experience successful! If you are interested in becoming a volunteer, please contact the student office at 495-6315 to set up a meeting with one of our staff.
five key truths to keep in mind:
1. It's a journey
It takes time investing in a student. It is more a marathon not a sprint.
2. Time on their turf
One day on "their turf" = 10 Sundays in small groups.Meeting them on their turf (i.e. sport games,
school lunches, dance recitals) creates trust, community, and common ground between the two of you.
3. Fill-Up First
Effective leading means you do so out of an overflow of your own love, faith, and discipline. You
won't be productive or effective for the marathon without doing this.
4. Keep it Real
Just be you. Be real, honest and true to who God has created you to be.
5. Partner with Parents
As a small group leader, it is your job to encourage the parent/child relationship by whatever means
possible. Just as you are not parentally responsible for a student, you are also not responsible for the
student's spiritual development. That's a job for Mom or Dad.
