Notes from Our Pastor
Frazer’s history as a generous church is remarkable. Whenever a need from God has arisen, Frazer has stepped up to the plate and met that need. I want to share with you several needs as we continue our journey to Christmas and into a new year:
(Continued At Bottom of the Page)
Church-Wide News & Events
Christmas Eve Communion, Candlelight Services
Communion will be offered “come and go” from 12 to 2 p.m. in the Sanctuary Christmas Eve. Candlelight Worship will be offered at 5 p.m. in the Sanctuary and 7 p.m. in Wesley Hall. A nursery (0-3) will be available for both candlelight services; children are invited and encouraged to join in these family worship events. Come and invite a friend!
Financial Giving in 2011 Coming to a Close
In order to receive credit for your financial giving in 2011, all contributions must be received in the church office or be postmarked by Saturday, Dec. 31, 2011. According to IRS regulations, anything received on Jan. 1, 2012 or later will be credited to your 2012 giving record. As a part of your year-end giving you may want to consider a contribution to the Frazer Charitable Trust Fund. The Frazer Charitable Trust Fund provides a wonderful opportunity to perpetually fund many church-sponsored ministries. For more information, please contact Harold Faulkner at 272-8622.
Special Worship Schedule for Christmas Day
Christmas Day the Frazer family will gather for Sanctuary worship service at 9:30 only and Wesley Hall worship at 11:00 only. These will both be family worship services with special activities during the service for children; feel free to dress casually and even bring children in their pajamas. There will be no nursery, no children’s church, and no children’s or adult Sunday School.

Notes from Our Pastor - Continued
* One of the most beautiful ministries in the United Methodist Church is the Alabama-West Florida Conference United Methodist Children’s Home. The Children’s Home mission is to follow the example of Christ by embracing all God’s children… one child, one family at a time. The Children’s Home receives a great deal of its funding through the White Christmas offering. I hope you will consider giving a gift to the Children’s Home this Christmas. You will find offering envelopes in the pew or chair racks.
* Patrick and I had the privilege of being in Haiti last week to meet with the deaf community and our partners in ministry there, Mission of Hope and 410 Bridge. The deaf community will begin relocation to permanent housing in a much safer environment outside of Port au Prince in a community called Cabaret. Five hundred homes are going to be built in this neighborhood with 160 of those homes being built for the deaf. Thousands of people will ultimately live in this area. Fifty of the homes for the deaf will be completed at the end of January.
* We also had the privilege of breaking ground for the church that is going to be built in that neighborhood. We have committed to providing the funds to build the church. The cost is $145,000. We don’t have $145,000 right now, but we know God wants us to build this church. So, on Christmas Eve, our entire offering will go to build this new church in Haiti.
* Let’s participate with God in a miracle. What would happen if every member of Frazer gave as a minimum to build the Haiti church the amount of money we have spent on Christmas presents for our family? Let’s build this church. I fully expect God to work a miracle through the people of Frazer on Christmas Eve.
* And lastly, don’t forget that the lifeblood of the ministry and the mission of God through Frazer church is the church budget. Giving to the church budget sounds very unglamorous, but the church budget is not about numbers. The church budget is about the ministry of Jesus Christ. It is about the mission of Christ in our community and around the world. Please continue to support the mission and ministry of Christ through your giving to God through Frazer church.
Grace and Peace,
Dr. Tim Thompson
