The folks in this group may be older and wiser but they are definitely not slowing down. They are fully active, interested in life and still growing as people. Older adults at Frazer are encouraged to become more Christ-like and as an overflow of that, to use their time and talents to meet the needs of others. They are active in every ministry of Frazer and also encourage and spend time in fellowship with one another. For these folks, real living fills up the week.
Sunday begins with a social time at 8:30 a.m. in the church parlor. We have fellowship and a continental breakfast, followed by a variety of Sunday School classes and worship services both here and at Wesley Gardens United Methodist Retirement Center.
Every Monday, Tuesday, and Thursday morning at 8 a.m., a fitness program is conducted in the John Ed Mathison Activity Center gym. It is taught by a certified instructor and includes stretching, low-impact aerobics, and strength-building exercises using weights.
Thursdays are busy days for Frazer's older adults. The second Thursday at 6 p.m. brings S.P.I.R.I.T. of Frazer (Special People Involved Regularly In Thanksgiving/Testimony). Dinner and a program is enjoyed by all who come to this evening event. On the third Thursday “Friends” meets at 11 a.m. It includes Bible Study and a luncheon program. “Fourth Thursday” begins at 9 a.m. with time for a variety of table games, crafts and classes. Lunch is served at noon for $4 and Dr. Don Hill of Frazer’s Counseling Clinic speaks on a variety of topics.
Older Adults at Frazer are interested in the world. Past trips have included Disney World in Fla.; Branson, MO.; a Cajun Country trip; and Nova Scotia, Canada. We travel by bus so we are able to spend lots of time sharing our lives with one another.
